Emily Kerski
B i o g r a p h y
Clarinetist Emily Kerski is a member of the United States Army Band "Pershing's Own," joining the Ceremonial Band in November 2019.
Prior to her Army Band appointment, Emily was an active freelance performer in Chicago, collaborating with 5th Wave Collective, Modern Reeds, and Noise Bias, and an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
Seeing music and the arts as powerful catalysts for social change, Emily is active in community musical engagement, learning, and participation, and a committed educator. While in Chicago, Emily served on the faculty of The People's Music School and the DePaul Community Music Division. She is also a founding faculty member of the Junior Lift Clarinet Academy (Fort Collins, Colorado).

An experienced arts administrator, Emily currently serves the International Clarinet Association as Index Manager of The Clarinet magazine and Program Book Coordinator for the 2020 and 2021 ClarinetFest conferences.
An avid contemporary musician, Emily co-founded the Modern Reeds contemporary recital series in Chicago, which is dedicated to the promotion of contemporary repertoire for woodwinds.
Emily has been a contributing writer for Cacophony, Chicago's magazine for new music and culture and a guest writer for the International Clarinet Association's BuzzReed blog. She also reviews recordings for The Clarinet.
